CEA - list
CEA is a French Research and Technology Organisation, with more than 16 000 staff members. CEA focuses on strategic areas such as low-carbon energies, defense and global security, information technologies, and health technologies, as well as fundamental research.
Among its divisions, CEA-Leti and CEA-List are particularly active in the development of silicon technology, processor architecture, system integration, cyber-physical systems, and artificial intelligence hardware and software. CEA-List has over a decade of experience in chiplet-based architecture and design, achieved through co-optimization with CEA Leti's integration technologies. CEA is also a key player in the European Pilot Lines, pioneering research on chiplet architecture, design, and integration technology.
Role
CEA-List is highly active in the development of chiplet-based architectures. In this project, CEA is evaluating the "chipletization" approach for avionic high-performance computing use-cases (with Thales). This evaluation necessitates a thorough requirement analysis and the definition of specifications at both the system and interface levels. By decomposing complex computing monolithic chip into smaller, more manageable chiplets, the aim is to significantly enhance performance, flexibility, and efficiency in avionic systems.
